Dr. Briana Ortiz's divorce has been finalized, time is getting short to find a kidney for her brother, and the promotion she wants might pass to a new doctor, Dr. Jacob Maddox. She was ready for him, but he wrote a letter explaining that he is sweet, kind and funny and not good at having good first impressions. They started to exchange letters, share lunch in the closet, and talk to each other. Jacob then decided to give his kidney to Briana's brother and it made her wonder how can she resist him.
One of my favourite quotes from this book is, "There's a special peace in sleeping next to someone you love." That quote made me want to believe in love. Especially if it is someone you trust, someone who knows you well.
Thoughts - This book got me emotional. It was frustrating to see them not going from friends to lovers because Jacbos and Briana had thoughts of why they shouldn't be together instead of just being honest. It was a slow burn but I love it. It was the best.
