The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog. I always have go-to genres which are fantasy and chick lit. But this time I decided to read one genre that will help me to step out of my comfort zone which is mystery thriller. And this book is one of them so let's start with the summary.

Millie has been living in her car after being fired from her last job and Nina Winchester has a child Cecelia and lives in a big house with her husband. She needed someone to clean the house and take care of her daughter, she knew Millie was perfect for the job. Millie was more than happy to do the job like picking Cecelia up from school and cooking meals. She gets to live in a room in the attic, it's small, with one window and a fridge containing water bottles. Although there are some things she notices in the house, like Nina telling lies about her daughter, she changes her mood every day and makes a big mess. And yet her husband is perfect, not only handsome but also takes care of Cecelia even though he's not the real father, and he seems to struggle with Nina. Millie will soon find out the truth, and it's not pretty. She also hopes they don't find out what she is capable of.

One of my favourite quotes from this book is, "He has no idea this is just the beginning." Millie finds out the truth about the Winchesters, and what is really happening in the house that Millie didn't notice and when she knows what she has to face, she will be ready.

Here are similar books to read -

I give this book a 5/5 rating. I hope everyone has a good day and I will see you soon.
