Kara Malhotra is the son of a famous filmmaker and wants to go to a filmmaking college. Ahanna Mukherjee comes from a middle-class family and she has no desire to follow in his footsteps. She wants to become an author by going to college. Karan sees the girl and since then he would do anything to make her happy even though she would only see him as a rich man who could get anything he wants. He would make sure that her dream would come true like being an author and publishing her books. She began to fall for him.
Ahanna's dad chose to have a family instead of going to the US for his job, she made a promise of not doing the same thing. And she knows that going to college is the perfect way to achieve and be famous like she always wanted. Plus she has been through many proposals, and she didn't feel the same way about any of them. But Karan has been helping her, motivating and doing whatever it takes for Ahanna. She would soon realize that he is the one for her.
Karan is known for having a father who is a famous filmmaker and people love him. But only Karan knows that his father only cares about his career and nothing else, and would do anything for his fame. Karan wants to find the love of his life, settle down, and have children. Even though Ahanna is the opposite of him, no one else makes his heart beat so fast the way she does.
One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "One always tends to judge people too soon and creates a picture of them in the mind and I was no exception." The moment she sees Karan and knows where he comes from, she assumes him having the perfect life and can have anything he wants from fancy cars, and shows off. But after knowing him, she was wrong.
