Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.
Olive Smith's best friend wants to be with Jermeny but she wouldn't do it because not only because he happens to be her ex but also she thinks that Olive still has feelings for him. So Olive came up with the best solution, to convince her best friend that she is dating a guy, Adam Carlsen who is a grumpy professor. He needs to fake date her because his career depends on it. It goes well until Olive finds herself in a difficult situation, being in love with Adam.
Olive has a dream of curing pancreatic cancer and has a chance to work with a cancer researcher extraordinaire who also happens to be a close friend of Adam. It's another reason she needs to fake date him. He starts to help Olive, from being supportive to buying pumpkin spice latte and food for her. She then learns that even though he is grumpy as everyone in the faculty sees and knows, Adam is actually sweet and kind.
Adam is a top scientist, he is on top of the game, published many papers, have tenure and millions of dollars in research grants. And yet with his grad students, he is known for being a jerk. If they break a small piece of equipment they'll get into trouble. But with Olive, he is different.
What I love about this book is the grumpy/ sunshine with fake dating trope. Its what everyone loves on Instagram. Plus I love how this book has a romance with women in STEM, as in what happens to the women in the science field, and how they get treated by mediocre white men.
