Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I got to know there will be a movie based on this book, especially since one of the main characters will be played by Simu Liu, also known as Shang-Chi. So let's get started.
Emma Blair was married in their twenties to her high school sweetheart Jesse. They started to make a life for themselves by not living their parents' expectations and their loved ones in their hometown Massachusetts. They've been traveling around the world, grabbing every opportunity as much as they could. On their first wedding anniversary, Jesse got into a helicopter over the Pacific, it then went missing. Jesse got gone. Emma moved back to her hometown and put so much effort to put her life back together. After being in their thirties she ran into her old friend Sam and they fell in love. They got engaged, it was a way for Emma getting a second chance. Until Jesse was found Jesse, who has been alive and came back to her. Now Emma has her fiance and her husband, she has to figure out what she wants, finding her true love by listening to her heart.
I like how the book started from the past and to the present. To show how Emma was in high school, how she fell in with Jesse and got married. Then to the time she lost her husband and had to move back to her hometown. My favourite chapter is when the author wrote about what it would be like losing someone you loved and the way you feel and it's written from 2nd person's point of view.
One of my favorite quotes is, "True love doesn't always last. It doesn't have to be for a lifetime." True love won't last the way people excepted on the other hand it doesn't happen for a lifetime.
