Nick lost his best friend Derek at a very young age. Since then his career, the money, and the promotions didn't mean anything to him, having no idea what to do with his life. Nick then received a package, it included his dreams and possibilities. Derek sent him a bucket list, for Nick to have a journey, to find happiness again. In the Green Mountains Tennesse, he met Dhalia. They agreed to be friends and soon they wanted to be more than that.
After losing Derek, he was heartbroken, Nick had to make the most difficult decision and he was told by Derek in the letter to move on, to find the love of his love, the one who will make him happy. Dhalia is a mother of a young boy Jack, he quickly fell in love with her beauty and kindness. They've been spending time with Nick reconstructing an old house, spending every night and taking care of Jack. And Nick knew that he loves his life in the Green Mountains.
One of my favorite quotes from this book is, "Kissing my fingers, I saluted the sky." I love this quote because while Nick was completing the tasks from the bucket list, it makes him happy and so he thanked Derek for the journey.
