Humaria "Hani" Khan is a Muslim teenager, she came out to her friends as bisexual but her friends didn't believe her because they thought she is going through a phase and in the end, she will be with a guy, suddenly she blurted out to her friends she is in a relationship with the girl they hate Ishita "Ishu" Dey. She is completely opposite, a very studious girl, top of the class and wants to be the head girl to make her parents happy and to achieve that goal Ishita agree to help Hani as long as Hani helps her to become popular, that will give her the chance to be elected as head girl. Even though they made a pact. they start to develop feelings for each other, things got complicated.
Humaria Khan is from Bengali and already came out to her parents and they supported her, they care about her happiness. As for her friends, they didn't believe her when she came out to them. Aisling and Dee have boyfriends, they much rather spend time with them than go to a mosque to support Hani and her father's campaign for the country council. All they care about is making sure Hani has a boyfriend and so she told them she has a girlfriend.
Ishita is from Bengali too, recently her elder sister Nikhita who is known for being the perfect daughter dropped the news to her parents that she is not going back to college and got engaged to an Indian man, they weren't so happy about it which is why they hoped their second daughter would make the right decisions and one of them is being the head girl. That is the reason she agreed to be in a fake relationship, to have Hani's help to be popular and to be elected.
They're both from Bangladesh, and so everyone at the school assumed they would be friends but they don't get along well, they only see each other at festivals or dinner parties. Both of them have goals, they created a guide on how they are going to fake date, how they are going to show everyone they are together. Later on, they know how they help each other, how they make each other happy.
So to conclude, Hani and Ishu agreed to be in a fake relationship so that they get to have what they want, in the end, they fall for each other.
