Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I love Nicola Yoon, my favorite book is The Sun Is Also The Star, the writing was amazing and the love story was so beautiful. I was so excited to read the third book so let's get started with the summary. 

Evie Thomas used to read romance novels, she had a huge collection of books and loved reading them however she stopped reading them after her parents got divorced. She now thinks love stories are nothing but fairy tales, she doesn't believe in them anymore. Then the strangest thing happened, she started to have the ability to see the future and not just any future when Evie sees a couple kissing, she sees the past, present, and future. As in from the time they met, the beginning of their love story, and all the way to the end. 

She wanted to find a way to understand why this is happening and so she finds herself in a dance studio to learn the waltz, fox-trot, and tango with a new partner named X who happens to be opposite to her. He is adventurous, passionate, always says yes to everything. They both have to enter a dancing competition and have weeks to prepare. She started to fall for X, it was not part of her plan, with the visions of heartbreak she's been having she realized that there is a way to escape from love and they are so drawn to each other especially when they are dancing. 

There is something so magical about this story when Evie and X only follow the steps but they had to do more than that, dancing means having a connection, there should be chemistry which is one of the elements of dancing. Evie loved reading romance novels and doesn't read them anymore, doesn't believe in love anymore. But turns out it's the dancing that makes her believe to have love in her life. 

One of my favorite quotes is "Yes, falling in love requires a leap of faith. But people only jump because they don't know what the ground looks like." Evie thinks that when people fall in love, they do whatever it takes to be with their loved ones but they don't know how their love story is going to be. They won't survive. 

So to conclude, Evie joins a dancing competition to understand how she has a new ability to see past, present, and future when a couple kisses. She meets a new dancing partner X and they start to fall for each other.
