Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. The year has started and there are many exciting books to read. This particular I have been waiting for, I finally got it and finished reading it. Let me tell you it is amazing so let's get started with the summary.

This is about Sunny Dae, a Korean teenager boy who happens to be a nerd. As in he likes to play Dungeons & Dragons with his friends Milo and Jamal. He also gets teased at school for being a nerd by a popular guy Gunner. One day he meets a girl name Cirrus, he immediately started telling lies that he is in a fake band, started wearing his brother's clothes. He believed it was a way to show Cirrus that he is cool. However, things got messy with his lies, his friends had to go along with it and soon Cirrus would found out the truth.

Cirrus moved from London, she has travelled around the world, has many friends and she knows people who are musicians. All of this made her a cool person, Sunny immediately wanted to create a fake version of him so that Cirrus would like him.

First of all, I love on how the book started if the superheroes and villains have origin story even the nerds have too. Second of all, I used to think that only fantasy book has maps but turns out even realistic fiction have cool maps like this called Mystical Realms of Southern California. And third, I love how this book is for the nerds who are trying to be themselves. This book has many similarities to Fake It Till You Make it by Jenn P. Nguyen.

One of my favourite quotes is, "Every superhero has an origin story. Every villain has an origin story. Every loser has an origin story, too." As for someone who loves Marvel movies, this quote is an inspiration.

So to conclude, Sunny Dae who is a nerd meets Cirrus, to be cool and confident he told her he is in a fake band with his friends and his lies soon will out.

Here are the similar books to read -

Frankly In Love by David Yoon

How It All Blew Up by Arvin Ahmadi

Breathless by Jennifer Niven

Colour Me In by Natasha Diaz

I give this book a 4.9/5 rating. I even recommend reading Frankly In Love by David Yoon, the book is well written and really good. I hope everyone has a good day and I will see you soon.
