Vivian's school worship the football team so much they can get away with anything such as sexist dress codes and hallway harassment. Vivian has decided to end it by creating a feminist zine, where she distributed anonymously to her classmates. She wanted to fight back for her classmates. It started with her classmates responding and it turned into a revolution.
One of the football guys made a comment on the new girl Lucy and this leads to Vivian creating Moxie by creating flyers to send a message that Moxie Girls are tired of the way they are being treated in the girl and they will fight back. Vivian was inspired by her mom who was a punk rock Rock Grrl in the '90s. Things started to grow when she talks to different girls, she learned of how so much money is going to the football team instead of other things like the science equipment or girl's football team. And then other girls started being Moxie. They all come together to stand up and to fight back.
One of my favorite quote of the book is 'Your silence not protect you' this is from Andre Lorde, Vivian didn't want any girl to be treated like they are some kind of object, they deserve to be more than that.
So to conclude, Vivian has started the girl revolution to show the school that Moxie will not be quiet and will fight back.
