Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. Every reader has a TBR pile, a reading list of each month, and they plan what books they will read. I happen don't have TBR, I tried to have a reading list but in the end, I randomly pick a book to read. I guess I like the idea of choosing the books without reading the summary, it can be fun and exciting. This book happens to be one of them. Let's begin with the summary.
Tessa Dickson was in a car accident and lost her eyesight. She lost hope, nothing makes her happy anymore, not even her poetry blog. She has to wait 100 days to get her sight back. Her grandparents wanted Tessa to write again but she gave up and so they decided to put a newspaper ad, hiring a typist but Tessa wanted her grandparents to remove the ad. Right then they get an unexpected visitor, Weston Ludovico, a bright young man about Tessa's age with a charming smile and no legs. Tessa didn't want any help from him, she believes that he wouldn't understand what it's like not abling to see anymore and she kept pushing him away. But Weston never takes no for an answer and wanted to show her to that sight is not the only sense. Weston wanted to help Tessa to be happy again and to write again. The more time they spend writing poems, the closer they get.
Tessa is an introvert. She spends her time writing poems and contacts with her online friends. She was happy with that. But after losing her eyesight she has missed so many things such as how her bedroom looked like. She would get nightmares of the accident and she was afraid of going out. And she thinks that nobody would understand her pain after meeting Weston she gained back her happiness, got her writing inspiration back. She started to have feelings for Weston and wanted to see Weston even though she doesn't know about his legs.
Three years ago, Weston was having a time of his life, he loved getting into fights with his best friend, skateboarding with his brothers, and never wants to stop. But he got hurt from skateboarding and things changed. Weston lost his legs, he needed time to heal and he became a blade runner. He had so much school work to catch up with and didn't want to get into a relationship until he met Tessa. He didn't want Tessa to see him particularly his legs, he was afraid that she wouldn't accept him.
This quote is my favorite, 'Weston helped me not be afraid, Weston took me outside and showed me the world.' I think it means Tessa didn't want to go outside, she was scared of people staring at her but Weston helped her to get out of the comfort zone.
Let's conclude, Tessa lost her eyesight and didn't want to be a writer anymore, Weston was hired to be a typist to write poems for her. They both found out what it's like to be with each other.
