The main aspect of this book is all about learning the cultures of African and Korean, from culture, to family history and all the way to parents, the things they have in the past and how they want their children to be in the future. Not only that, the book describes what it takes for two people in the same room will look into, their eyes will be locked just like that there is chemistry between them. Natasha doesn't believe in love but Daniel didn't want to give up. He wanted to change her mind even if they will not see each other, they will be in different countries.
One of my favorite quotes is, "Our history is too compressed. We're trying to fit a lifetime into a day." Both Natasha and Daniel have learned as much as they can about each other, like Daniel wanting to ba writer and not a doctor, Natasha seeing everything in logic and being mad at her dad since he is the reason why they were being deported. Both of them talked about their childhood, their parents and many more. With the limited time they had, they want to fit their entire life into one day.
In the end, they went back to their lives, they had to return to reality. They made a promise that they will stay in touch and things change, they grew apart but they know that their love will never fade away. Natasha knows that in an alternative universe, they get married and have kids, Daniel wants that to happen. And one day they will meet, maybe after ten years and one day, they will reunite once again.
If you like this book, I recommend to read All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven which is now a Netflix movie, there is also Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. I give this book 4/5. I hope you have a good day.
